Brides: How do you find hair and make up for your wedding Part:1

 

So you’re going to the chapel and you’re going to get married…but who’s doing your makeup and hair for that special day!!! 

.So many times brides run into the dilemma  that their regular hairstylist does not come on location and they feel their only options for makeup is the local mall cosmetic counter.

Not at all the case, there are many bridal salons that specialize in making that special day run smoothly and come to you so that you nor your bridal party have to stress about the hustle and bustle of a busy salon on a weekend morning.






When you identify a mobile bridal salon what do you do next?   


It’s important to make sure that the company and individual is a good fit for you.  Determine what your style and vision is for your special day.  Collect pictures and information and schedule a consultation.  A consultation is generally complimentary; it is a time to sit with the artist and get a feel for them.  To take a look at their portfolio and get feedback on the vision that you have verses the reality of what you are working with.

If you are not comfortable during your consultation then don’t feel pressured to book or purse services with the individual or company.  This is the most important day of your life; its imperative that you have a vibe and comfort level with your artist or stylist.

For destination brides consultations can be done over the phone or by email.

After you have completed your consultation and you feel comfortable; you may want to have a trial run.  A trial run typically cost but that fee is nominal in comparison the peace of mind you will get after you have nailed down your bridal hair and make up look.

 Develop a regular skin care regimen.

You need to first determine what type of skin you have; oily, dry, normal or combination.  From there, find a skin care regimen best for you.  If you need assistance then consult a local esthetician or skin care expert.

                Exfoliate…Exfoliate…Exfoliate

It is so important to get rid of dead skin; use a gentle exfoliant at least twice a month.  This will give you a wonderful glow and allow your make up to lay correctly on your skin.

               

               Hydrate

I cannot stress it enough; make sure you are drinking plenty of water; hydrated skin equals happy and health skin.

                Remove blackheads and whiteheads properly

As much as you want to, DO NOT pop those pimples.  It may cause scarring or allow the affected area to spread.  Properly treat and remove pimples; if you need assistance consult a skin care expert; or in the case of extreme acne a dermatologist.

            Use SPF

We all need protection from the sun and any environmental damage that can be caused to or sensitive skin; make sure you are using an moisturizer or product containing SPF…you’ll thank me in 10 years!!!

Bridal Beauty Trends - Wedding Hair and Make Up Orlando Florida

To all my lovely African-American Brides be aware of a few things as you began your quest for satisfying your bridal beauty needs.

One of the number one problems I encounter is a bulky sew-in extension.  Why is this a problem?  Because most brides want sleek manageable hair for the day off.  If your sew in is not executed correctly this can prohibit your from achieving the look you desire.  Sit down with your wedding hair stylist and ask those important questions make sure your sew-in extension placement corresponds with your desired wedding hair style.

Some of our African American Brides hesitate to go dramatic with their eye shadow colors or incorporate color.  We are so lucky as women of color...we can generally wear just about any shade.  Make sure you sit with your wedding make up artist and ask all of these questions.  Express your concerns and get their professional opinion.
