Luscious Lips

My Recent trip to Las Vegas totally dried out my lips...uuuuurrrr.
What do you do to keep moisture locked in your luscious lips in extremely dry weather?
First off HYDRATE...HYDRATE...HYDRATE.
Increase your intake of water.
Also use a lip moisturizer, preferably something with jojoba or vitamin e.
NOT JUST VASELINE, petroleum jelly coats the lips it does not penetrate.
A good sign that your lip balm or moisturizer is effective is if you feel a slight tingle!!!
Also don't forget or be scared to use a lip scrub to get off that excess skin.
I hope this helps....
Until Next Time.

Can Any Women Wear Red Lipstick

Just the other day one of my clients asked me can women of color wear red lipstick....PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME USE PROFANITY!!!!
The answer is "HAYLE" yes!!!
First of all let’s think out of the box ladies....red does not always have to look like Ronald McDonald. There are various shades of red which include deeper burgundy shades that are red based.
Try a liner that is darker blend it out and use a deeper, cooler blue based red or cool red. Your gloss can make an impact as well use a plum or burgundy gloss on top of a red lipstick or do the reverse use a deep plum lipstick with a brighter lip gloss.
Still not sure, take a look at our red alert blog to get some ideas and if all else fails schedule your private make up consultation today.
Until next time!!!

2009...9 Tips to Better YOU!!!!!

2009 will bring an economic rollercoaster; we have to stay on our toes to remain chic, trendy and fashionable through these challenges.

That’s why I have given you a head start, I am listing 9 tips for 2009 that already fall into your beauty and health regimen. You can follow these tips to update and maintain your look while staying on your budget.

Here we go from top to bottom (literally)

1. Update and maintain your hair style (the picture you found in the magazine and have been looking at for nine months, freaking do it already) If you need baby steps to walk you through the transition call me.

2. Shape and maintain your brows (we are putting all the furbys to rest in 2009, clean it up).

3. Find and maintain a skincare regimen and get a facial once a month. (Do not rub Vaseline and lotion on your face and call it a day)

4. WHITEN YOUR TEETH. We look at the ads and the whitening packages in the store, we wonder and then the majority of us walk on. Whether it’s thru your dentist office of the drugstore shelf, invest the money whiten your teeth.

5. If your lips are chapped then scrub them bad boys and use a lip balm.

6. Keep your hands and feet manicured and polished, even if you just use a clear. Put the ped egg down before you hurt yourself and treat yourself even if its just once a month.

7. Participate your body in a weekly cleanse.

8. Get a quality lotion, and a quality razor. Do not buy a lotion that runs down your legs onto the floor find a lotion that actually feels good when you put it on. If after you use your razor you have so many cuts it looks like you have been into a fight then please, please, please take a trip to your local drugstore and pick up a new razor and shaving cream. (Tip for shaving cream look for something that has jojoba oil.)

9. Update your undergarments (yes I said it, and what). You should put everything on for a reason even your under garments. How are you doing to feel giving that presentation or speaking to your client or student knowing you have a BIG hole in your undergarments that instead of putting them on you should have thrown them away. Enough said!!!!
